The Wetlands

The Wetlands is an area of Splashclan's territory that is partially within the swamp and partially within the lake. There are many reeds and tall grass here, prey is very abundant; Duck, Geese, Frogs, and occasionally Beavers. Cats will need to be careful around the beavers as they can be very territorial, and there may rarely be freshwater crocodiles as well which are always hostile. There are also fish in the lake as well that cats can hunt, and this is an area where they learn to hunt, catch fish, and to swim as well.

Firestorm crouched down and slowly walked towards the water's edge. He then quickly dashed his paw in and brought out nothing. He groaned then leaped in and tried catching the fish that had gotten away.

Whitesea's ears swivel at she heard a noise off to her right. As she went to investigated to see firestorm. She walked up to him,"Greetings."

The bluish-grey she-cat stared at the warrior, her tail flicked from side to side. Her gaze met his as she spoke."I meekly check out the area on a solo patrol." She need to make sure everything is okay so Splashstar wouldn't have to worry. The had been a lot on her mind lately."I saw that you were hunting, forgive if I am interrupted."

Firestorm shook his head, smiling. "It's fine, I didn't find much anyway." He got out of the water and shook the water off his fur. He knew it was odd that there wasn't much prey around since there were always fish swimming around.

Shuck lurked in the reeds, mud and wet clinging to her pelt rather annoyingly. She'd been hunting near the other cats but as soon as the pair had come into view she ducked into the reeds and now she was stuck in here trying to wait it out. Hopefully, her luck would run as strong as it always had and her scent would be masked by the stench of lake and mud.

Firestorm looked to where ripples had started to form. What was that? He looked closer and dove under. He saw a she cat that was hiding in the reeds. He nudged her back.

Shuck hissed angrily at the touch, leaping backward into the reeds. How did he even find her? That was an issue of the past anyways now that she had been spotted.

He looked on concerned. "Um, are you OK?" He asked. He didn't ask who she was. He was more concerned with if she was OK then who she was.

Shuck snapped, completely ignoring the question posed to her by Firestorm. Slowly she took a step backward, trying her best to blend into the mud and find a way out.

"Um, yeah. Why?" He asked confused.
He had seen that a reed had caught her leg, but he didn't say anything or draw attention to it.

Shuck was thoroughly irritated now, backed into a muddy corner by the very cats that has made everything into such a huge twisty mess.

“Wouldn’t you like to know kitten.”
Shuck snapped, shaking her leg free from the reed encircling it. She’d stalled long enough and it was time to bounce! So bounce she did, turning tail and running through the reeds, weaving through the mess with practiced ease. It was after all, just like squeezing through fence posts.

He grabbed and tackled her before she got very far. "Where are you going?" But he accidentally clawed her eye making it bleed.

Shuck yowled in pain, if this cat was going to set claws on her she’d give him something to cry about. Fury raging through her blood she lashed out with unsheathed claws, smacking him across the face hard enough to tear open his skin in three places.

Firestorm stumbled, and the pain of the she-cat's claws made him blackout. But before he had he croaked, "it was an accident" Then he started to sink to the bottom of the lake.

Shuck squinted down at the body lying in the mud through one eye. Serves him right for raising claws against her. Now it was time for her to bolt, it was getting dangerous to be alone and she figured with this on her record it would be safer to join up with someone else. So, Shuck ran hauling tail with all of her speed until she blew past the borders.

Silverfrost, having walked through the area saw Firestorm go into the water and not come upon. She quickly dove in and searched for him. She saw him ans grabbed his scruff, using her strength to bring him to the surface. She hauled him on the wet ground and pushd on his chest, getting any water out.

Firestorm was still but alive. He had a long gash of red along near his neck. His eyes were closed and he sputtered out water, but did not wake up.

“Come on, young one wake up.” Silverfrost demanded, in her usual quite tone. She noticed the gash on his neck and knew he didn’t fall in the water on purpose. She wondered who had done it but pushed the thought aside for now
